Every autumn, the FAI Days open the doors to extraordinary and usually inaccessible places across the whole Italy, revealing the most reserved and fascinating stories of our heritage. This year, one of these stories will be ours: on October 10th and 11th, we are deeply proud to take part in the event, welcoming visitors through the eyes and voices of exceptional guides.
The FAI Autumn Days
Since 1975, FAI – Fondo per l'Ambiente Italiano (like National Trust for Italy) has worked daily with a precious mission: to protect, preserve, and celebrate the historical, artistic, and landscape heritage of our country, ensuring that beauty remains a shared treasure passed down through generations. Currently, there are 75 FAI properties, 60 of which are open to the public and 15 are undergoing restoration. Piedmont itself holds some of the most fascinating sites protected by the Foundation. A short distance from Turin stands the Castle and Park of Masino in Caravino, the ancient residence of the Counts Valperga overlooking the Serra d'Ivrea, famous for its extraordinary maze. In the Saluzzo area, Manta Castle preserves precious 15th-century frescoes that share a deep connection with Turin's history, having inspired the decorations of the Baronial Hall at the Medieval Village in Valentino Park.
Twice a year, this map of beauty expands with extraordinary openings. During FAI Days, the whole of Italy transforms into an open-air museum: private residences, secret gardens, and iconic architectural landmarks usually closed to the public open their doors for a single weekend. It is an invitation to discover the city from a unique perspective and to actively support the care and preservation of cultural heritage through voluntary contributions during visits.
For this edition of the FAI Autumn Days, we are delighted to reveal DUPARC in a new light: not just a place of hospitality, but an icon of modernist architecture and a treasure box of art.
Visiting DUPARC: a journey to discover the Art Collection
For the very first time, our private collection of modern and contemporary art takes center stage, unveiled through guided tours led by FAI volunteers. It is a dynamic and constantly evolving collection that weaves together modern masters, contemporary art, and emerging voices. More than an exhibition, it is a living project that inhabits our spaces and travels the world for major international loans, from the MoMA to prestigious Parisian exhibitions at the Bourse de Commerce. The guided tour will walk visitors through the works currently populating our lobby and continue inside the suites, from the original period spaces to our most contemporary designs. It is a rare opportunity to fully immerse yourself in an iconic landmark, where modernist architecture seamlessly meets art.
While guided tours are conducted in Italian, a dedicated English printed guide will be available throughout the weekend at our Front Desk to accompany our international guests along the path.
In addition, as part of the FAI Days, DUPARC ORIENTAL SPA will exceptionally open its doors for guided architectural tours. Please note that to host this event, the wellness area will be paused for the weekend. We warmly thank our hotel guests for their understanding as we celebrate this special cultural event.
The property will be open for visits on Saturday, October 10th and Sunday, October 11th, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (last guided tour at 5:30 PM).
Guided tours are conducted in Italian; will be offered on a pay-what-you-can basis to support FAI activities. FAI members and hotel guests will receive priority access.
Where to stop for a break
For those wishing to linger, DUPARC Bar & Bistrot offers the perfect setting to relax and recharge. Our Bar, as always, will be open to all throughout the day, ideal for a morning coffee or a relaxing aperitif after your visit. In addition, for the FAI Days weekend, the Bistrot will open exceptionally for lunch on both Saturday and Sunday with a dedicated menu.
Access is open, no reservation is required, and our hotel guests enjoy priority seating.
Where to stop for a break
On the eve of the FAI Autumn Days, the FAI Giovani Torino group is hosting a special event dedicated to young adults under 35, offering an exclusive and informal preview of DUPARC.
During this special evening preview tour, contemporary art reveals its dynamic and everyday nature, taking participants along a curated path through the lobby, common areas, and suites (please note: guided tours are conducted in Italian). The experience illustrates how a major art collection seamlessly integrates with daily life and hospitality. Following the tour, the evening continues at the DUPARC Bar & Bistrot with an aperitif: a wonderful opportunity to connect, share ideas, and experience artistic heritage in a welcoming atmosphere.
The event is part of Next Gen, FAI's initiative designed to offer younger generations unique opportunities for cultural engagement and social connection.
Ticketed event with limited availability and mandatory booking.
Places open in Turin with the FAI Autumn Days
While FAI Autumn Days take place all across Italy, staying at DUPARC puts you at the very heart of Turin's local itinerary. The guided tour of our private art collection is part of this nationwide event, allowing guests to step inside some of Turin's most exclusive and iconic landmarks that are rarely open to the public.
Throughout the weekend, you can easily combine your stay at DUPARC with visits to these remarkable local sites:
Villa Tesoriera (Corso Francia, 186) a refined Baroque residence immersed in one of the city's most picturesque historic parks. Surrounded by stuccoes, frescoes, and garden-view salons, the visit offers a glimpse into historic Turin and the artistic treasures preserved within its prestigious music library.
La Bolla and Pista at Lingotto (Via Nizza, 230) the iconic glass-and-steel spherical structure designed by Renzo Piano atop the former FIAT factory. Suspended above the famous rooftop test track and overlooking the rooftop garden of the Pinacoteca Agnelli, it offers a unique perspective on contemporary architecture and breathtaking panoramic views of the Alps.
Palazzo dei Supremi Magistrati or Curia Maxima (Via Corte d'Appello, 16) the historic Law Courts designed in the 18th century by Filippo Juvarra and Benedetto Alfieri. An imposing Baroque landmark in the heart of the historic center that housed centuries of judicial history of the Kingdom of Sardinia, featuring majestic staircases, grand courtrooms, and halls steeped in institutional memory.
Heritage Hub (Via Plava, 86) located within the historic Mirafiori industrial complex, a sanctuary dedicated to automotive heritage. Access opens the doors to an exceptional collection of over 300 historic vehicles, unpublished prototypes, and design milestones tracing Piedmont's great industrial history.
