Turin is a city that reveals its true soul to those who know where to look. Beyond the grand royal palaces and Baroque avenues lies a vibrant, avant-garde spirit hidden behind quiet residential gates. If you are staying with us on Saturday, June 6th and Sunday, June 7th, you are in port for a rare cultural treat: Open House Torino, a weekend when the city opens its most exclusive private architectures, design studios, and secret gardens to the public.
At DUPARC, we have always believed that hospitality should be in continuous dialogue with art, design, and local culture. This weekend, we are thrilled to invite you behind our own scenes, offering a curated experience that bridges our 50-year modernist heritage with the secret wonders of our neighborhood, San Salvario.
The DUPARC Architecture Tour
As our guest, you already experience the calm, minimalist atmosphere of DUPARC every day. However, for this weekend only, we invite you on a unique journey through time right inside your temporary home.
The guided tour of DUPARC is conceived as a journey through the evolution of our hospitality. Far from a traditional tour, you are invited to explore the suites for a true step back in time: from the original rooms, which preserve the charm of the initial design, to our most contemporary spaces, where every detail is tailored for the absolute comfort of our guests. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in iconic modernist architecture and our modern and contemporary art collection, unmatched in the city. A true taste of an urban staycation, the perfect inspiration for those wishing to rediscover their own city from a different perspective.
In addition, for the Open House weekend, our wellness oasis, the DUPARC ORIENTAL SPA, will exceptionally open its doors for guided tours. We would like to inform our hotel guests that, in order to host the event, the wellness pathway at the SPA will not be available throughout the weekend. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this temporary change may cause to your relaxation.
Guest Information: Complimentary guided tours run by our Staff on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM (last tour at 6:30 PM). Tours are conducted in Italian but, upon request, we are delighted to offer the experience in a bilingual format. Simply ask our team at the Front Desk to arrange your visit.
Dining Pauses
For those who wish to linger and fully experience the Urban Retreat atmosphere, the DUPARC Bar & Bistrot is the ideal space to relax and recharge between your discoveries in the neighborhood. Our Bar will be open to all and available throughout the day, perfect for a quick coffee or a relaxing aperitif. In addition, for the Open House weekend, the Bistrot will exceptionally open for lunch with a dedicated menu, the perfect spot to chat about what you have just seen, with the complete freedom to dine without a reservation
The San Salvario Design District: 6 Unmissable Stops
San Salvario is Turin's most eclectic neighborhood—a fascinating mix of grand 19th-century townhouses, industrial heritage, and green innovations. To help you navigate the busy Open House program, we have curated six architectural gems located just a short stroll from DUPARC:
- 25 Verde (Via Chiabrera, 25): Located just around the corner from us, this is Turin’s famous "habitable forest." A spectacular residential project that reinterprets the treehouse concept on an urban scale, featuring walkways suspended over seasonal ponds and a metal structure entirely enveloped by lush greenery.
- The Heat Garden (Via Lugaro): A masterclass in how industrial infrastructure can be elevated into sustainable architecture. This district heating plant is seamlessly integrated into the neighborhood via industrial terraces housing over 11,000 plants, beautifully balancing technology and nature.
- Giardino Eva Mameli Calvino (Via Campana, 32): A hidden fragment of an ancient experimental orchard. Named after Italy’s first female botany professor, this secret community garden offers a serene oasis of biodiversity tucked away between residential blocks.
- Palazzina Sanquirico (Via Campana, 37): A late-19th-century residence overlooking Valentino Park that masterfully blends eclectic heritage with bold, contemporary restoration—including a striking indoor pool in the basement. Its cinematic interiors often serve as a backdrop for international film productions.
- Consulate of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (Via Cesare Lombroso, 16): An elegant Art Nouveau townhouse holding an unexpected slice of Southeast Asia. Beyond the historic rooms and its extensive cultural library, the true highlight is the inner courtyard, transformed into a completely silent, meditative bamboo garden.
- Molecular Biotechnology Center – MBC (Via Nizza, 52): A powerful contemporary structure defined by raw concrete and expansive glass. Beneath its monumental glass vault lies an enchanting winter garden acting as a central courtyard—a brilliant space suspended between scientific rigor and organic design.
